Chapter 1

The World’s Labels Versus God’s Truth

Coach Tip

Hey y’all, welcome back to The Wise Way. I’m Coach Tip, and I’m so glad you’re here with me today. Before we dive in, let’s just take a breath together. Lord, I pray for every listener right now—open our hearts, let Your truth settle deep, and help us see ourselves the way You see us. Amen. Alright, so let’s get real for a second. How many of us have been called something by the world, or maybe even by our own families, that just stuck? I know I have. Growing up, I heard a lot of things: “you are not enough,” “you are too much,” “broken,” “forgotten.” Sometimes it wasn’t even words, just the way people looked at me, or didn’t. And if you’ve ever felt like you’re carrying around labels from your past, your pain, or even your own mistakes, you’re not alone. But here’s the thing: those labels? They’re not the final word. God has already spoken a better word over your life. I had to learn that the hard way. For a long time, I let my pain and my past tell me who I was. But God kept whispering something different. And that’s what we’re talking about today—who God says you are, not what the world says.

Chapter 2

Rediscovering Identity Through Scripture

Coach Tip

So, let’s go straight to the source—God’s Word. I wanna walk you through some scriptures that changed everything for me. First, Ephesians 1:4-5 says, “He chose us before the foundation of the world.” Y’all, you were not a mistake. You were handpicked with intention. Then there’s Jeremiah 31:3—“I have loved you with an everlasting love.” That means God’s love isn’t based on how well you perform or how many times you mess up. It’s just… there. Always. John 1:12 says, “To those who believed, He gave the right to become children of God.” That’s access, that’s inheritance, that’s family. Isaiah 43:1—“I have called you by name; you are mine.” Your past? It doesn’t get the last word. God’s calling does. And 2 Corinthians 12:9—“My grace is sufficient for you.” Weakness isn’t a flaw, it’s a setup for grace. I remember one morning, I was just feeling so low, and I started saying these scriptures out loud. I’m not kidding, something shifted. It was like God was reminding me, “You are who I say you are.”

Chapter 3

Living Out Your True Identity

Coach Tip

Now, let’s be honest—it’s one thing to know these truths, and a whole other thing to actually believe them, right? I mean, I can read “I am chosen” a hundred times, but sometimes my heart still wants to argue. Why is that? Well, we’ve got years of old tapes playing in our heads, and sometimes it’s just hard to let go. But here’s what’s helped me and the folks I coach. First, daily affirmations—literally speaking God’s truth over yourself every morning. Second, when that negative self-talk creeps in, replace it with scripture. And third, surround yourself with people who remind you of the truth, not just echo your trauma. I remember leading a group exercise where we wrote down all the old labels we’d been carrying, then replaced them with what God says. Y’all, the tears, the freedom—it was real. When you start living according to what God says, things change.

Chapter 4

Embracing Your Identity in Daily Life

Coach Tip

So, how do we make this stick? For me, it’s about building a routine. Every morning, I take a few minutes to meditate on scripture, just one verse about who I am in Christ. Then I speak affirmations out loud, even if I don’t feel it yet. “I am chosen. I am loved. I am redeemed.” And let me tell you, it’s powerful. If you can, find or start a group that’s focused on identity in Christ. There’s something about having people around you who will call out the gold in you, especially on the days you can’t see it yourself. That kind of community keeps you accountable and helps you grow.

Chapter 5

Walking in Freedom and Confidence

Coach Tip

Now, let’s talk about freedom. The enemy loves to twist God’s truth and make us doubt who we are. He’ll whisper, “You’re not enough,” or “You’re still that broken kid.” But you can fight back with scripture. When those lies come, answer them with what God says. And here’s another thing: practice gratitude. Every day, thank God for what He’s already done and what He’s declared over you. It shifts your focus from what’s missing to what’s already yours. I also do a weekly reflection—reviewing scripture, journaling about my identity in Christ, and celebrating the progress I’ve made. It helps me see how far I’ve come and keeps me grounded in who God says I am.

Chapter 6

Living Out Your Identity

Coach Tip

Even when you know the truth, doubts and fears can sneak in. Maybe you wonder, “What if I mess up again?” or “What if I’m not really enough?” That’s when you need a scripture-based mantra. Something like, “I am God’s masterpiece, created for good works.” Say it when you’re struggling. And put reminders where you’ll see them—on your mirror, your phone, wherever. Let those words be louder than the doubts. I’ve got sticky notes all over my house, y’all. It might look a little wild, but it works. Every time I see them, I remember who I am and whose I am.

Chapter 7

Walking in Practical Authority

Coach Tip

Here’s the last thing I wanna leave you with—walk in your authority. When you pray, declare God’s promises over your life. Speak them out loud. If there’s an area where fear or shame still has a hold, write out a scripture that speaks directly to that place and declare it every day. And try this—visualize yourself walking confidently in your purpose, like you already believe it. See yourself the way God sees you. That mental picture? It’ll start to become your reality. Alright, family, that’s it for today. If you do one thing this week, pick a verse about your identity and meditate on it every day. Write down three truths about who God says you are and speak them out loud. And if you need prayer or want to connect, you know where to find me. Remember, you are who God says you are. I’ll see y’all next time on The Wise Way.
