Chapter 1

The Forgotten Foundation

Coach Tip

Hey y’all, welcome back to The Wise Way with Coach Tip. I’m so glad you’re here, whether you’re driving, folding laundry, or just trying to catch your breath in the middle of a wild day. Let’s take a moment to pause, breathe in deeply, hold it, and let it out slowly. That breath? That’s a miracle, y’all. We forget sometimes, but every single breath is a gift from God. And honestly, that’s where I wanna start today — with the relationship that changes everything.

Coach Tip

You know, we live in a world that’s just loud about relationships. Social media, TV, all that stuff — it’s always telling us what love should look like, who we should be with, what we deserve, how not to settle. And I get it, I do. I spent a lot of years chasing after people’s approval, wanting to be seen, wanting to be chosen. I remember this one season — I was pouring everything into friendships, trying to fill this ache inside me. But no matter how many people I surrounded myself with, I still felt empty. Like, I’d go home at night and feel… alone. I thought if I could get that one person to see me, or if I could just fit in, then I’d finally feel whole. But it never worked.

Coach Tip

And here’s the thing — I was looking everywhere but up. I was so busy chasing connections with people, I forgot about the One who created me. The one who saw me before anyone else did. I mean, how often do we stop and ask, “How’s my relationship with God?” Not just, “Did I go to church this week?” but, “Am I connected to Him?” Because that relationship — with your Heavenly Father-that ’s the foundation. It’s not optional, it’s not something you get to later. It’s the core of who you are. And I know, sometimes it’s easy to overlook. But y’all, He’s still waiting for us to look up and say, “Abba, Father… I’m here.” That’s where healing starts.

Chapter 2

Priorities and Realignment

Coach Tip

So, let’s talk about priorities for a second. Sometimes our relationships are out of order because our priorities are out of order. I mean, if you’re constantly pouring into others but you feel empty, or you’re trying to love someone who’s just hard to love, or maybe you’re aching to be loved and understood yourself — I’ve been there. And I’m telling you, you will never be able to give or receive real love until you’ve encountered the love of the Father first. That’s just the truth.

Coach Tip

There’s this verse, Matthew 6:33 — you’ve probably heard it, but let’s sit with it for a second. Jesus says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” He didn’t say seek the relationship, or the career, or the attention. He said, Seek God first. Because everything else flows from that, I know it sounds simple, but it’s not always easy, right? Life gets busy, people need us, and before we know it, God’s somewhere at the bottom of the list.

Coach Tip

So here’s something practical — do a relationship check not just with the people in your life, but with God. Ask yourself: When was the last time I talked to Him, really talked? Am I honest with Him about what I’m feeling, or am I just going through the motions? Am I making space for Him in my day, or just squeezing Him in when I have a minute? And listen, God’s not afraid of your questions, your doubts, or even your silence. He wants you — the real you, not the cleaned-up version. That’s where peace and purpose start to grow.

Chapter 3

Living Each Day Rooted in Him

Coach Tip

Now, let’s get honest about what it looks like actually to live this out. Because it’s not just about showing up to church on Sunday and checking a box. It’s about building a daily relationship with God — in the little moments, the quiet ones, the messy ones. For me, that looks like prayer, but not always the fancy kind. Sometimes it’s just, “God, I’m tired. I don’t know what to do. Help me.” Sometimes it’s just sitting in silence, letting Him meet me in the stillness.

Coach Tip

I remember this one season — everything felt chaotic, like I couldn’t catch my breath. I was running on empty, trying to hold it all together. And one day, I just stopped. I sat down, closed my eyes, and just breathed. No words, no agenda. And in that quiet, I felt God’s presence in a way I hadn’t in a long time. He met me right there, in the middle of my mess. And I realized, He’s not waiting for me to have it all together. He wants me to show up, to be real, to let Him in.

Coach Tip

So, if you’re listening right now and you feel far from God, or you’re not sure where to start, pause. Take a breath. Be still. Talk to Him, even if it’s messy. He’s not going anywhere. He’s right there, ready to meet you. And that’s the relationship that changes everything. Thanks for spending this time with me today. If this message spoke to you, share it with someone who needs a reminder of who their first love should be. Until next time, stay wise — and remain rooted in Him.
